Anyone have any experience with the new Patagonia GoreTex lines? I switched away from Pata for shells a few years ago because I had bad luck with their old H2No membrane. Curious how it's going for them with the new GoreTex versions of some of their outerwear.

I agree Patagonia had an issue or two with H2NO but they did have there reasons for switching. Now that Gore and Patagonia have teamed up again the result is Outstanding! The mountaineering line and the ski line are leaps and bounds ahead of last year, not only in the membrane but the fabrics and technology being used.
My recommendation, stop in one of the stores, try one on, and notice the little things that they have done well this year. |

Jackets?
Usually deep pow in Utah so I am always looking for the pants to jacket connection. Thanks Mammut and Marmot for doing this. Alyeska and Alpinist among some of the best. Not GoreTex, sorry Gore, but I love KJUS apparel. Four way stretch, pant to jacket connection. Just wish ArcTeryx and some of the other companies had connections. BK |

I've always been a big fan of Patagonia because of their environmentally-minded way of manufacturing products, their commitment to excellence, and their general business philosophy (did you see that Black Friday ad?). Now with GORE-TEX in their shells, it seems like the ultimate combination! |

H2No has/had chronic failures in really wet environments. I suspect that sales showed the distaste for it and that it had something to the homecoming of Gore Tex in their line. Merely speculation, as I don't test or work for Patty.

I heard that it was failures with breathability, and that was only affecting the 2.5 layer H2No, not the 3 layer stuff they put on their Stretch Element or M10.

I have the nomad GTX, but I haven't been able to test them in wet conditons yet. I will update when I do. They are very comfortable and I like the overall boot design. The rocker toe makes it really easy to roll into the next stride. The vibram sole is pretty cool as well.

I will comment on some trail runners when they get here. My first shot was on the Arrant trail runner. They run 1/2 size small for sure. Should have a better size in a week or so. Nice construction however, just runs a little small.
