I have many preferred tents, depending upon use, but most of them are from REI | #1 | ||

It kind of depends upon the application. For super light summer and moderate winter, I have a two man REI half dome. If it is burly winter weather, I have an REI Dome tent which is pretty bombproof. If I want a light winter tent with lots of space, I go to my Black Diamond Megamid, probably the most versatile of my winter tent. It is the lightest and with a little effort it is a glorious ice palace. In the snow I cut out sleeping platforms and have room to sit and even a table in the center to cook on. For car camping I have an REI Hobitat. Lots of space and looks cool. Now, with this big tent, my wife is up for more road trip camping adventures.

For four-season shelters I prefer Bibler Tents. I have three of them and have been very happy. They were bought by Black Diamond a few years back but other than the logo are the same good old Todd-Tex single wall material.

I have all different tents for various needs, but one of my favorite and most durable has been a Cabela's four season. I am uncertain of the exact model, but this thing is a beast and has helped to keep me dry and warm in the most torrential of rains and nasty weather.

I have never used the Bibler, but I have anted one for a long time. My 4 season is a TNF Eastwind, my rest of the time is a Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2, my bivy is the OR advanced, and my tarp is the Mega Mid light. I would love to try an I-tent, Fitzroy, or the Eldorado.
